Catellani & Smith Stchu Moon

The Catellani & Smith Stchu-Moon collection was created by designer and company founder Enzo Catellani in 1997. It is one of the absolute bestsellers of the Italian manufacturer Catellani & Smith. The whole series is a tribute to the moon which is displayed for example in the shape of aluminium discs, aluminum hemispheres or aluminum quarter spheres. The inner surface is an intentionally irregular relief onto which the light is projected by one or more reflectors. Then the light is reflected from the relief-like surface in a multiplied way as if the relief itself turned into light. The inner surface is offered in gold-, silver- or copper-plated. There are available many floor lamps, wall lamps, pendant lamps as well as recessed lights out of this series.
