The Louis Poulsen PH 5 Classic emits hundred percent glare-free light. The lamp has three downwardly directed shades in matt white powder-coated which directs the majority of the light downwards. The pendant lamp emits directed downwards. Thanks to the trumpet-shaped top shade, this lamp also emits side-directed light which causes that the activated pendant lamp illuminates the area as well as itself.
The inner red cone and the small reflector in blue generate a particularly warm light. The upper of the three downward shades appears dark because the purple connecting rods cast a shadow on this shade. The colour correction ring is also held in purple. In 1958 Poul Henningsen created the first model of PH 5 wherein the shape and size of the pendant light changed constantly. Apart from the Classic in White, also the PH 5 Contemporary is offered in different colours.
